Joy Rupe, Data Analyst
Joy Rupe, RD, LD, CDM, CFPP is a Licensed Registered Dietitian in the state of Florida and a Certified Dietary Manager. Currently Joy provides nutrition-focused physical assessments in Bay area hospitals.
As a Tampa native, Joy and her family launched The Empress Tea Room in Temple Terrace, Florida (2000 – 2003) offering lunch, afternoon tea, and catered events. Joy developed menus and managed food preparation for the 55-seat restaurant. Through a complimentary venture Comfort Cuisine Personal Chef Service (2000 – 2011), Joy provided meal service and culinary skills for clients with medical conditions using healthful cooking techniques. She also developed specialized cooking methods for the U.S. Air Force flight attendants.
As a member of the national Chef’s Move to Schools program (2009), Joy implemented an organic garden at Riverhills Elementary School in Temple Terrace, Florida where she taught students about nutrition and organic gardening. Ongoing, Joy manages Better Nutrition Alternatives, a non-profit educational service where she provides cooking demonstrations at Hillsborough County Libraries and a cooking blog at www.choosecooking.com.
