After practicing as a Physician Assistant in the specialities of Endorinology and Nephrology for over 10 years, I've learned that a systems based approach isn't an approach that promotes healing and wellness. After experiencing the effects of Integrative Functional Medicine for myself, I went back for further training so that I can offer a more comprehensive and wholistic approach.
I trained at the Institute for the Psychology of Eating (IPE), the world’s leading school in Nutritional Psychology where I received my certification as a Behavioral Nutrition Coach. In IPE’s internationally acclaimed program, I learned powerful cutting-edge tools and protocols that enable me to work with weight issues, body image challenges, overeating, binge eating, and a variety of nutrition related health concerns such as digestion, fatigue, mood, immunity, and others.
I also trained at the Essential Oils Institute, founded by one of most renown Doctor of Natural Medicine, Dr. Josh Axe and credentialed by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners(AADP). In this program, I became certified as an Essential Oils Coach as I learned about the chemistry behind essential oils that make it such powerful tools in wellness, as well as the inspiration to most pharmaceutical medicines. Being used for over 3,000 years, Essential oils are more than just smell good oils, but rather very powerful potent oils, that if used appropriately, can offer an infinite number of benefits that can assist you along your wellness journey.
I also completed training at the Integrative of Functional Nutrition Academy (IFNA), which is a partner of the world-renowned Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM). The IFNA training is based on a medical nutrition model that combines the very best of modern science, clinical wisdom, and integrative therapies. IFNA training includes skill-building in: nutrition-focused physical assessment; therapeutic elimination diets; conventional and functional labs & diagnostics; art and science of dietary supplements; mind-body modalities. A “whole food as medicine” approach is central to IFN therapy.
The skills I use from all my trainings are a combination of practical coaching techniques, results-oriented psychology, clinical nutrition and nutrition science, medical-clinical science, body-centered practices, mind-body science, and a positive and compassionate approach to challenges with food and health. With my history of being a Certified Physician Assistant and combining the powerful new fields of Dynamic Eating Psychology, Mind-Body Nutrition, and Integrative Functional Nutrition, my approach to assist you in your wellness journey is unique.
Not only do I offer a unique approach, I opened up a wellness practice with other RDs and Nutritionists where we collaborate to help our clients a truly unique and individualized experience to reach their wellness goals.
