Biography :Formally a clinical psychiatrist, I am pleased to have become a Certified Functional Nutritionist. Late Onset Alzheimer's took my mother's life. As an APOE4 carrier, (and with newly discovered Hereditary Hemochromatosis) I am at high risk for developing Late Onset Alzheimer's. After leaving clinical psychiatry in 2016, I turned my attention to Functional Nutrition to explore the mechanisms underlying cognitive decline to see what, if anything, could be done about it. The beautiful news is that it is no longer true that little to nothing can be done to alter the course of the cognitive decline associated with Alzheimer's. In fact, there is a lot that can be done using life-style modification and functional nutrition strategies to both intercept, and sometimes even reverse the cognitive decline . As an IFNCP Graduate, it has become my passion to help spread this fantastic news and to provide guidance and support to anyone who may seek my help in dealing with this complex, multi-factorial, and challenging problem.
