Biography :Alicia Galvin MEd, RD, LD, CLT received her undergraduate degree in Nutritional Sciences from Texas A&M University in 2008. After graduation, she then completed her dietetic internship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, where she rotated through various areas of dietetics including bariatric, gastrointestinal health, trauma, large organ transplant, renal, oncology, pediatrics, community, and outpatient settings.
Recognizing that there exists a psycology to eating and nutritional behavior change, she decided to pursue her Masters of Education in Counseling from the University of North Texas and completed her Masters level internship at the Lifeworks Group where she counseled individuals on emotional health under supervision.
She then worked in a conventional dietetics setting in home infusion, working with patients with altered digestive function, requiring the need for TPN or tube feeding. While this provided valuable experience, she felt that there had to be more that could be done to prevent a person from getting to that point. So she launched her own practice in March of 2014 and became a Certified LEAP Therapist, receiving extensive training in immunology, adverse food reactions, and practical application of dietary treatment for chronic inflammatory conditions. She continues to expand her scope of practice by incorporating anti-inflammatory protocols through food sensitivity testing and functional and integrative medical nutrition therapy principles.
Alicia works closely with her clients, guiding them through their nutrition protocol and assisting with meal ideas, recipes, education, and emotional support...because changing habits can be difficult and Alicia feels that providing emotional support is just as important as providing information.
