Amanda’s study of nutrition began when she came across a book called Nourishing Traditions when pregnant with her first child about 18 years ago. This book presented convincing research surrounding ancestral diets and showed the health benefits of returning to these rich traditions.
As she completed a counseling certification a few years ago, however, Amanda became particularly interested in the impact that physical health has on mental health. At this time, she faced serious health issues that could not be resolved through conventional treatment. After reading numerous books on nutrition and implementing what she learned, Amanda’s health was restored. Through this experience, she became convinced of the efficacy of ancestral nutrition in restoring health. She is a recent graduate of the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy and is passionate about helping people transform their mental and physical health through changes to their diet and lifestyle. Amanda has lived in Kathmandu, Nepal for over 12 years. She is excited to continue to unearth more “nourishing traditions” embedded in the Nepali culture; and to encourage individuals of all ages to return to these in light of their proven health benefits.
