Hi! My name is Heidi Storm. I live on a hobby farm in northern California where I care for my rescued animals and 16 different types of organic fruit. I'm coming into integrative and functional nutrition from a very "non-foodie" background. While focused on natural and plant-based nutrition for myself, my early career interests veered toward research. After a fellowship in neonatal intensive care nutrition, I spent a few years working in the NICU/PICU and then 2 decades in research and development in the clinical and infant nutrition product industry. New responsibilities with nutrition supplements gave me impetus to really do a deep dive into the functional medicine and nutrition field. I was extremely grateful to find IFNA with its solid base of education, myriad of brilliant, rock star teachers and network of clinicians. I adore solid proof of efficacy and weirdly obsess over mechanisms of action so you can imagine how this passion is flamed by integrative nutrition and its intricacies. I still consider myself a newbie in this field but am like a sponge (a natural one!), soaking up and amalgamating more information daily. I am humbled and thrilled to join this cadre of IFNA alumni.
