I graduated from UT Southwestern Medical Center Dallas with a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics. What prompted me to become a dietitian was my battle with anorexia. Through the knowledge I learned as a dietitian I was able to overcome disordered eating and body dysmorphia. I was blessed to be able to work in many different roles as a dietitian over the years which included being a Chief Clinical Dietitian at a hospital, creating and running a diabetes program as a Certified Diabetes Educator as well as starting a Nutrition and Fitness Facility with several doctors. I've always followed a holistic lifestyle and when I started having issues with leaky gut and hormone imbalance, I used an integrative approach to get to the root cause and that was how I healed. I knew this was the direction I needed to shift my career. IFNA has taught me so much and now I'm working as a functional dietitian with Rhode Island Nutrition Therapy as their hormone specialist.
