Practicing since 1997, Michelle is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist accredited by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Michelle earned her Bachelor degree in Dietetics & Nutrition from Florida International University and her Master of Science degree in Human Environmental Science with a major in Human Nutrition and a minor in Health Behavior and Promotion from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. Michelle is conventionally trained as well as functionally trained in nutrition through the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy, the first training of its kind credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). She has specialized experience in eating disorder treatment, weight loss, clinical nutrition, health behavior and promotion. Michelle works with individuals, families, and older adults for a variety of issues that include weight loss, weight gain, healthy eating and lifestyle, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease, cancer, kidney disease, IBS, food intolerance, enteral feedings and many more. Michelle prefers a naturopathic approach to illness. She is a nutrition therapist, public speaker, author and educator. Michelle has operated a private practice office since 2006. She is an active member of The Institute For Functional Medicine (IFM), Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine (DIFM), the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), and the American College of Nutrition (ACN).
Michelle believes in living a clean lifestyle with as little chemical exposure and as small an eco-footprint as possible. She is an advocate for locally sourced organic food production and for the labeling of genetically engineered foods. She has a husband and young son and believes in practicing what she teaches. She lives an active lifestyle chasing her son around and by hiking and skiing near her home in Evergreen, Colorado. Michelle is proud to be a Master Gardener and loves to grow food.
