DeeAnna is a graduate of both Bastyr University's MS in Nutrition Sciences and prestigious integrative medicine dietetic internship programs. She previously became a Certified Natural Chef at Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition in the San Francisco Bay area. Since graduation from Bastyr, she has been honored for the opportunity to author and co-author chapters and appendices on Gastroenterology and Drug-Nutrient Interactions in Krause's Food and the Nutrition Care Process, 14th and 15th editions. Now working as the Gastroenterology Clinical Nutrition Specialist at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, WA, with a weekly shift at the Swedish Cancer Institute, she is always eager to find ways to bring integrative and functional nutrition practice into the allopathic medical world. In her free time, she loves to try new recipes, dreams of developing a new food blog, runs, reads, laughs, and spends time outdoors in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her husband, Mike, and the best dog ever, Levi!
