While many health coaching programs focus primarily on behavior change and wellness support, IFNA emphasizes the application of functional nutrition in clinical settings including therapeutic diets, dietary supplement strategies, nutrition-focused physical assessment, and assessment and interpretation of conventional and functional laboratory data.

The program incorporates skill-building in several core areas of functional nutrition practice, including:

Step 3 – Log in: Once you are registered, log in to the course shell at the top right hand corner of your screen and you will be taken to a Welcome Page where you click on the Track that you registered for. Once you are there, you will enter the world of IFNA training!

  • Earn CPEUs, a Functional Nutrition Certificate of Training (COT) or if eligible, the IFNCP Credential! 

1. Earn CPEUs. Matriculate through the various the Tracks and earn CPEU’s if that is what you are seeking. We offer 224 pre-approved CPEUs and we are an Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

2. Functional Nutrition Certificate of Training (COT). Matriculate through Track 1, Track 2, Track 3, Track 4 – Therapeutic Elimination Diets (TED) and Track 5 – Case Study Immersion (CSI). No board exam is necessary to earn the COT. You will have 24 months to access and complete the Tracks. Upon completion of each Track, you will be awarded a Certificate of Training (via email request) from IFNA and you may then enter your information into IFNA’s Graduate Directory.

3. IFNCP Credential. Matriculate through Track 1, Track 2, Track 3, Track 4 – Therapeutic Elimination Diets (TED) and Track 5 – Case Study Immersion (CSI), complete 9 one-on-one mentoring hours and complete the IFNCP self-guided review course. You will have 12 months to access and complete the Tracks. Upon completion of all requirements, you can then apply for the IFNCP (Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner™) Credential exam. Once your application is approved, you will be eligible to register for the IFNCP Credential exam. Those who successfully pass the exam will be awarded the IFNCP designation and may enter their information into the IFNA Graduate Directory. Only qualified health care professionals can apply. IFNA does not allow “testing out” of any Tracks.
