Susan Lord, MD

Susan Lord, MD, a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, is an integrative family physician, teacher and public speaker. She specializes in mind-body medicine, nutrition and psychospiritual counseling. In her unique consultative practice, she identifies the underlying issues that impact health and happiness and addresses them by nurturing the whole person.

Formerly Dr. Lord was Associate Director for Medical Education at the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, where she and Kathie Swift, RD, developed the ground breaking, integrative clinical nutrition course, Food As Medicine. She was also taught in: Mind, Body Medicine, CancerGuides and Healing the Wounds of War.

In 2008, she was appointed Associate Medical Director at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, where she provided health consultations, lectured extensively in their Healthy Living Programs and facilitated retreats: Transforming Stress and Women and Food. Her area of expertise focuses on the interplay between western science and ancient yogic traditions.

She is on the faculty of the American Meditation Institute and is the Executive Director of the non-profit, Creative PeaceWorks, whose educational programs explore the relationships among creative self-expression, peaceful living and health.
