Mary Purdy, MS, RDN
Mary Purdy, MS, RDN, CD holds a Master’s Degree from Bastyr University and ran a successful private practice for eight years working with hundreds of patients before coming to biotech start-up company, Arivale in 2015 where she is a Coach and Clinical Education Lead providing a personalized medicine approach that takes into account nutritional genetics, blood analyte biomarkers, microbiome and salivary cortisol for its clients. The coaching at Arivale takes a long-term, integrative approach where dietitians address diet, physical activity, stress, sleep, GI function and supplementation. Mary previously served as an adjunct professor at Bastyr University and was a clinical supervisor at the Bastyr teaching clinic from 2010-2016. Additionally, she has provided wellness presentations at businesses and local organizations around Seattle including continuing credit lectures given to the Washington State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Greater Seattle Dietetic Association and the Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine dietetic practice group (DIFM) and the Austin Registered Dietitians Alliance. She has been interviewed on Seattle television and public radio, quoted in magazine articles and health blogs including Prevention, Today’s Dietitian, Experience Life and Natural Health. She is also the host of the web series and podcast “Mary’s Nutrition Show” and author of the book,” Serving the Broccoli Gods”. She also co-authored the Diet Appendix for The Anti-Inflammatory Diet chapter for the 14th ed. of Krause’s Food & The Nutrition Care Process. She currently serves as the Chair of DIFM and Past President of the Greater Seattle Dietetic Association.
