
Lisa Powell, MS, RDN, received a BS in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and a MS in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona, where she received the President’s Award for Academic Excellence and was a Rhode’s Scholar nominee. She conducted research in both the Nutritional Science and Obstetrics and Gynecology departments at the University of Arizona.
Lisa is currently a guest lecturer and a member of the Dietetics Undergraduate Advisory Committee for the Nutritional Science department at the University of Arizona. She is contributing author for the Foundations in Integrative Medicine Course, National Center for Integrative Primary Healthcare, Center for Integrative Medicine, also at the University of Arizona. She has also provided food and menu consulting to business and industry, including Chiquita Foods International, the LPGA, Two Bunch Palms Resort and Sunrise Springs Resort.
Lisa is the Resorts Director of Nutrition for Canyon Ranch Wellness Resorts. For over three decades, she has lead the Canyon Ranch team of Registered Dietitian/Nutritionists and is responsible for development and implementation of cutting-edge integrative nutrition services. She is a member of the Canyon Ranch Speakers Bureau and has presented for lay and professional audiences both nationally and internationally. Lisa also serves as a nutrition spokesperson, representing Canyon Ranch in print, radio, television and web-based media.
Lisa has held leadership roles in the Southern Arizona District Dietetic Association and served on the Executive Committee for the Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine practice group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as Networking Chair and Associate Chair. She also served as a media spokesperson for the Tucson chapter of the American Heart Association.
Lisa loves food and cooking and delights in preparing healthy meals for her friends and family. She enjoys traveling and is active outdoors year-round in the Arizona sunshine, hiking, swimming and spending time with her three grandchildren.
